Enroll within 31 days
Benefit elections must be made within 31 days of your hire date. If you do not make elections, you will not have medical coverage and will not be able to make any changes until the next enrollment period unless you have a qualified life event (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth of a child).
To make elections or to opt-out of coverage, log on to gdbenefits.com or call the General Dynamics Service Center (GDSC) at 888-432-3633. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to midnight Eastern time, except NY Stock Exchange holidays.
Medical benefits
The Premium HSA medical plan is a high deductible health plan. A health savings account (HSA) is available with this plan. Here are a few key features:
- Prescription benefits through Express Scripts are included with this medical plan.
- Gulfstream does not contribute seed money to the HSA.
- If you contribute to an HSA, you can use the funds to pay for medical, dental or vision expenses.
- Employees enrolled in TRICARE or another non-high deductible medical plan can enroll in the Premium HSA plan but should not contribute to an HSA.
General Dynamics 401(k)
The 401(k) plan has automatic enrollment. If you are 18 years or older you will be automatically enrolled at 6 percent of your pay after 30 days, unless you opt-out of participation. Here are a few key features:
- Gulfstream will match 100 percent of the first 6 percent of your contributions
- You can contribute from 1 percent to 75 percent of your 401(k)-eligible pay
- You can contribute to all savings types: pre-tax, after-tax or Roth
- You can change your contribution amount and investment options at any time
Leaving us?
If your account balance is less than $5,000 when you leave Gulfstream, contact the GDSC for available options (i.e., IRA rollover, disbursement).
